Ecclesbourne School visited by MEP
29th March, 2010Ecclesbourne School Sixth Form was visited by East Midlands Conservative MEP Emma McClarkin on Friday.
Emma McClarkin, Britain’s youngest MEP, addressed the Sixth Form Assembly on the work of an MEP and life as a young politician.
Afterwards McClarkin, who sits on the European Parliament’s Education Committee, enjoyed a tour of the school with the current Head Boys and Girls.
McClarkin comments on her visit:
”I had a great time addressing the Sixth Form at Ecclesbourne School. They were knowledgeable and engaging asking many interesting questions.
“It’s great to see young people interested in politics and especially European Politics.
“Ecclesbourne School is an inspiring place to be with excellence in so many different subjects and enthusiastic students who are proud of their school.
“I look forward to welcoming a group from Ecclesbourne School to the European Parliament later this year where they will see the Parliament in action.”
