Emma McClarkin visits Hucknall Conservatives
19th January, 2011Conservative East Midlands MEP, Emma McClarkin is visiting Hucknall on Friday 21st January to speak at a meeting of Hucknall Conservatives at the Bentinck Club.
The subject of Emma’s talk is “Europe and the Big Society.”
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Emma McClarkin said that David Cameron’s vision for a Big Society and a smaller state had a great deal to offer not only Britain but also Europe.
“As Europe sees the advantages of our Government empowering people to take a greater interest in their lives and of the communities in which they live and work, I hope this is a vision we can resonate across other EU member nations.”
“I am keen to hear what people in Hucknall have to say and to hear about examples of how the local community is responding to David Cameron’s challenge.”
Hucknall Conservatives spokesman, Robert Copley, said that they are ,looking forward to welcoming Emma McClarkin back to Hucknall where she has campaigned before.
“Emma will find a warm welcome in Hucknall where our community works hard for each other in many ways.” Councillors from Ashfield and Nottinghamshire County will also be present.
