Emma McClarkin MEP welcomes European broadband funding for Lincolnshire villages
10th March, 2011East Midlands Conservative MEP Emma McClarkin has today welcomed the news that Lincolnshire County Council has secured European funding for a broadband internet trial.
The County Council put in a successful bid for funding, and has secured £750,000 to use on a trial period of broadband in two villages in the county.
Speaking following the news, Emma said:
“This European funding is great news for Lincolnshire residents and businesses, whose internet speeds have lagged behind other parts of the UK for too long.
“I hope that the trials will show that there is strong demand, and that this will then trigger further broadband investment in the county.”
