Emma McClarkin MEP says ‘Your Country Needs Blue!’
13th May, 2011East Midlands Conservative MEP Emma McClarkin has today given her support to Blue – the UK’s entry to this weekend’s Eurovision Song Contest – and is urging everyone across the UK to do the same.
Blue are a particular favourite of Emma’s, and will be performing their song ‘I can’ at Düsseldorf’s Esprit Arena in Germany tomorrow evening (Saturday).
Blue are 4th favourite with the bookies, behind France, Ireland – who have X-Factor twins Jedward as their entry – and Azerbaijan, but Emma believes that they could confound the bookies and come through to win the Europe-wide competition.
“We have a great entry this year from a great band, whom I have been a fan of for many years” Emma said.
“The Eurovision Song Contest has become hugely political in recent years with the UK not faring well. I hope this year is different, and I wish them the best of luck.”
