£1000 help for Help for Heroes
17th October, 2011Soldiers’ Charity Help for Heroes has been given some help itself with local Conservative politicians Emma McClarkin MEP and Andrew Bingham MP raising over £1000 for the charity on their recent High Peak Hike.
The East Midlands MEP and High Peak MP walked over 30 miles from Glossop to Buxton via Brough in August, and in the process raised £1008.79 for Help for Heroes.
Emma said:
“I’m delighted that we’ve managed to beat our target of £1000, and I know that Help for Heroes will ensure that it makes a real difference to soldiers’ lives.”
“We’re both part of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, getting a better understanding of everything our soldiers do for us, so I’m really pleased that we’ve been able to do something for them.”
Andrew added:
“I’m really pleased we’ve managed to raise so much money for Help for Heroes. Our target was £1000, so to beat that is fantastic.”
