Re-election Acceptance Speech

Thank you to all those who helped this campaign. My fellow candidates, our fantastic regional team but especially those who believed in us and voted Conservative. I am honoured to have been re-elected to serve the people of the East Midlands along with my colleague Andrew Lewer. I know he will work hard and be a strong voice for the East Midlands in Brussels.

This has been a hard campaign and tonight we have much to celebrate but also much to reflect on. We have serious work to do to prove we have listened to the people and their concerns. But UKIP have not diminished us and they will never diminish the Conservative Party.

We are the party who the people can trust, we are the party who deliver and we are the party that will give the people the vote they want on Europe.

We have much work to do to defend our country and its best interests in Europe. There are renegotiations to be held, powers to be returned and a referendum to be delivered.

Only a Conservative Government can secure Britain’s future. Only the Conservatives can deliver a strong economy, and only the Conservatives understand what it takes to make our country Great again.

Thank you for your support tonight. We will need your support to secure our future so in 2015 vote for a Conservative Government who will listen to the people and can and will deliver for Britain.
