Nottinghamshire firm behind Retroscents welcomes Emma McClarkin MEP

East Midlands MEP Emma McClarkin this week visited the Nottinghamshire business behind the highly-successful Retroscents air fresheners for cars.

Taking scents from much-loved 1980s sweets, Love Hearts, Refreshers and Parma violets, the air fresheners were the brain-child of brothers Steve and Gary Digva.

Nottinghamshire born and bred, the brothers set up In Phase International initially to innovate and develop new products in the mobile electronics industry but have since diversified into a number of other lines including Retroscents.

Miss McClarkin, who serves on the International Trade Committee in the European Parliament, met the brothers at their Nottingham HQ to hear about the popularity of Retroscents and to discuss their ambitious export plans for the future. She was also given a tour of their facilities.

Miss McClarkin said:

“It was great to meet Gary and Steve today, to hear about the success of Retroscents and to discuss their export plans for the future.

“Retroscents really are a fantastic product. You see them in shops and cars all over the country and it is great for Nottingham that the company is based right here in the centre of the city. Some of the scents they make really took me back to my childhood and they even now do a Minions range as well!”

Steve Digva said:

“Emma was able to spend a few hours with us at our head office in Nottingham. During Emma’s visit we were able to give her a brief history of In Phase and share some of our successes during our trading as well as our future plans. Emma feels that In Phase was a true success of Nottingham as we do. We are extremely thankful for Emma’s time and look forward to next visit to share in our success”
