Local engineering company praised by East Midlands MEP
19th October, 2015Conservative MEP Emma McClarkin praised local engineering firm JJ Churchill Ltd today, during a visit to hear about how European legislation affects their business.
Founded on Christmas Day in 1937, the company relocated to Market Bosworth in 1941, where it has been ever since. The firm has a highly-skilled workforce of approx. 130 employees, and manufactures parts for companies such as Rolls-Royce, Cummins Engine Company Ltd, Siemens and BAE Systems.
During her visit, Miss McClarkin met with the Managing Director, Andrew Churchill, and heard about the various ways in which European legislation affects their business and products.
Following her meeting, Miss McClarkin said:
“I’m constantly inspired by the depth of talent we have here in the East Midlands, and the range of small businesses that utilise that talent. JJ Churchill is a great example of this talent – they are a successful local business supplying large companies with quality products, as well as taking an active interest in the local community.”
