Emma McClarkin MEP welcomes news of an agreement between the UK and EU.
8th December, 2017The UK and EU negotiating teams have today issued a joint report on their progress towards securing an agreement on the three areas covered in phase one of the Brexit negotiations.
The agreement secures citizens’ rights, represents a fair financial settlement and maintains the Common Travel Area with Ireland.
Miss McClarkin said, “I welcome today’s news that reasonable terms have been agreed between the UK and EU on the three areas covered in the first phase of negotiations.
“This agreement will allow us to now move on to the key negotiations on our future trade relationship with the EU.
We must take this opportunity to cement our trading relations with the EU for mutual benefit, and show that the UK is open for business.”
