Derbyshire Archery Club welcomes Emma McClarkin MEP
9th August, 2012East Midlands MEP Emma McClarkin tried her hand at the sport of Archery last Sunday, when she visited Derbyshire Archery Club at Kedleston Hall in the middle of the Olympic Games.
Miss McClarkin visited the club as part of her drive to promote sports in the East Midlands in the year the Olympic Games are in the UK. So far this year, as well as Archery she’s also tried Trampolining, Rowing, Handball and Track Cycling .
Derbyshire Archery Club was founded in 1949, with Archery events being held at Kedleston Hall for over 300 years. The club currently has over 70 members, and has an additional practice ground at nearby Milford.
Miss McClarkin said:
“I had a fantastic time at Kedleston Hall with Derbyshire Archery Club. Everyone was really welcoming and talked me through how to start archery.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my chance to try Archery. Kedleston Hall is a great setting, and I would encourage everyone to give it a go.”
