East Midlands MEP to open Calow Primary School’s Christmas Fair
20th November, 2013East Midlands Conservative MEP Emma McClarkin will be going back to school this Saturday, when she visits Calow CofE Primary School near Chesterfield.
Miss McClarkin is visiting the school to open their School Christmas Fair, having been invited by the Headteacher, Cllr Martin Thacker MBE.
The Fair is open to the public, and will feature Santa’s Grotto along with all the usual Christmas stalls, with performances from the school choir and Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Brass Band.
Cllr Thacker said:
“We appreciate Emma giving up her time to be part of our preparations for Christmas, it’s a wonderful opportunity for her to see the community of Calow working hard to raise funds for the benefit of our children.”
Miss McClarkin said:
“I’m really looking forward to visiting Calow Primary School and supporting them by opening their Christmas Fair this year. Christmas is a special time of year, and I can’t wait to get into the festive spirit and share in the children’s excitement whilst supporting the school.”
