Emma McClarkin MEP celebrates Hockey success with local company

East Midlands MEP Emma McClarkin visited Notts Sport yesterday, to learn for herself the products and services that have seen them become the only Official Facilities Partner and Official HockeyFest Partner of England Hockey.

From their headquarters in Leicestershire, the company has built a world-class reputation, and has grown from a small regional operation to become one of the world’s leading suppliers of artificial turf for sport, play and cricket.

During her visit, Miss McClarkin was shown around by the Company Chairman, Shaun Patrick, and their Sales Director, Duncan Bennett.

She said:

“I’m absolutely passionate about sport, so it’s been great to come here and see the world-leading products and focus on customer service that Notts Sport offers. With England winning the final of the EuroHockey Championships recently, it’s fantastic that they supplied the surfacing for the Hockey Fun Zone and Adidas Hitting Zone at Lee Valley Hockey Centre.”

Miss McClarkin is also keen to promote hockey, with the recent success of the national team and with HockeyFest currently running throughout the country.

She added,

“HockeyFest is the national festival to promote hockey through over 800 clubs up and down the country, including Leicester Hockey Club, Market Harborough Hockey Club and Lutterworth Hockey Club, amongst others. I’d urge anyone who is interested to go along and find out more.”

Duncan Bennett of Notts Sport said:

“We were delighted to host Emma and discuss how Notts Sport have worked in partnership with England Hockey for the past 3 years both on facilities and in terms of supporting clubs via the current national HockeyFest event.”

Notts Sport also recently launched a revolutionary method of constructing football and rugby pitches in the UK which has the potential to open up new domestic and export opportunities and that Emma was able to offer advice on.

Duncan added,

“As part of the wider discussion on how Notts Sport aim to deliver the best possible service to our customers, we also explained how our patented new ShockWave® Ecobase® system will provide huge environmental and performance benefits. These wide range of advantages includes a 50% reduction in quarried aggregates, reduced construction periods and capital and life cost savings which will make state of the art synthetic turf facilities easier to install and more affordable for customers such as Schools, Universities and Sports Clubs.”
