MEPs join Asian Network

On Oct 6th at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester, East Midlands MEPs Emma McClarkin and Roger Helmer joined the British Asian Conservative Link, an organisation within the Party that seeks to develop a better understanding of the needs of Asian citizens and voters. The Link is represented in the Region by Baroness Sandip Verma.

Also in the picture alongside the MEPs are Hitesh Tailor (Chairman – Membership) and Ravi Gidar (Regions).

Speaking at the Conference, MEP McClarkin said “I believe that the British Asian Conservative Link will help us, as parliamentarians, to understand the issues that matter to Asian voters”.

Roger Helmer added “I believe that most Asian citizens in this country share the core Conservative principles of enterprise and entrepreneurship, respect for the law and for family values. I hope we can succeed in communicating these shared values to Asian voters in the East Midlands.
