Emma McClarkin MEP visits Innovation Centre
29th January, 2016Local Conservative MEP Emma McClarkin visited the University of Northampton’s Innovation Centre today.
The Innovation Centre is a flagship building for the Northampton Enterprise Zone. It has 42 flexible office units, along with a café and conference space, to help businesses grow.
Miss McClarkin, who represents the East Midlands in the European Parliament, met with representatives from Northamptonshire County Council and Northamptonshire University to discuss future applications for EU funding, with the aim of adding social impact to the community in Northamptonshire. She was also shown around the centre and heard about what it offers and how it is helping the local business community.
She said:
“It was a pleasure to come here today to hear about how the University’s Innovation Centre is helping the enterprises who have based themselves here to grow, and to discuss ways in which EU funding could help in the future. There is a real buzz about the centre which has outstanding facilities for start-up businesses, and there’s no doubt that this is the centrepiece for the Enterprise Zone.
“Northampton is becoming a hive of innovation. It was exciting to see what the future holds for the Innovation Centre, and hear about the exciting projects for Northamptonshire.”
