The Biz Club hears from Emma McClarkin MEP

East Midlands MEP Emma McClarkin visited The Biz Club in Oakham this week, to discuss how the EU affects local businesses in the area.

Miss McClarkin also heard from local business representatives and talked to them about possible options for EU reform, as well as the implications for the UK being inside or outside of the EU.

The Biz Club is a collection of business people from Rutland and the surrounding area, representing a diverse range of sectors and having a wide network of contacts and experience. They meet to discuss issues, share achievements, and take in information from a plethora of guest speakers.

Speaking afterwards, she said:

“We have a big year this year with the EU Referendum, so it’s essential to have a good dialogue with businesses across the region about the different ways in which the EU has an effect on their companies.

“It has been fascinating to hear the differing opinions from the businesses here today, on whether the UK should stay in the EU or leave, and I’m very grateful to Oakham Business Club for arranging the meeting.”
